Self-proclaimed “Shreveport bred, New Orleans fed” artist Maggie Koerner isn’t just a powerful voice, she’s an all-out tour-de-force. Having shared the stage with iconic acts like Charles Bradley, Trombone Shorty, The Revivalists, and Tank and the Bangas, her staggeringly powerful presence has always set her apart from the rest. After spending two years as the lead singer and front-woman for the legendary New Orleans funk collective Galactic, she released the haunting and lush EP, Dig Down Deep, with esteemed UK producer Fink (Amy Winehouse, Banks) on Ninja Tune.

On her Concord Records debut, Koerner embodies the raw, fiery soul of Tina Turner (if she listened to Radiohead) while embodying her own sense of empowerment and independence. Lyrically honest and eloquent even through pain, the album is a collection of deep, psychedelic soul, filtered through the swampiness of the Bayou she calls home.

“Maggie Koerner has once again pulled back the curtains to expose her deepest feelings in another breathtaking song that’s full of raw emotion.”

"Images" is about Maggie's own growth and reflection. Produced by her friend David Shaw of The Revivalists, “Images” is a song about how someone she loved found an abundance of ways to fall short and let her down.

“I wrote this song about a person I loved only to realize I was writing it to myself all along,” said Koerner in a statement. Hence the song’s title, it’s clear that the term “reflection” comes as a much deeper meaning.
